Van Remapping

A loaded van climbing out of a junction or towing on the A1 is where a remap earns its keep. Extra low-down torque means less labouring, fewer downshifts and a calmer drive.

Why vans respond well

Most modern vans use turbocharged diesel engines, and many share engines with more powerful models in the same range, with software setting the difference. Recalibrating for more low and mid-range torque can make a real difference to how a van copes with a full load or a trailer.

For trades and fleets

If your van is how you earn a living, downtime matters. Get in touch with the vehicles you run and how they're used, and you'll get a quote that covers them. Because JF Remapping is mobile, vans can be remapped at your yard, depot or site, and where several vehicles are involved, appointments can be planned around your working week.

Towing and payload

A remap does not change your van's legal towing limit or gross vehicle weight. Those are set by the manufacturer and the vehicle's plating. What it can change is how easily the van performs within those limits.

Insurance, leases and warranties

Tell your insurer about the modification. If the van is leased or on finance, check your agreement first — some don't allow modifications. Manufacturer warranty claims on related parts may also be affected.

Questions about van remapping

Can you remap more than one van?

Yes. Send the registrations of the vehicles you'd like doing and you'll get a quote that covers all of them.

Does a remap increase my towing capacity?

No. Legal towing and weight limits are fixed by the manufacturer. A remap can make the van more capable within them.
